The Main Event

We encourage students to fully commit to a rhythm of life that means that they are walking closely alongside other believers, who know them deeply, are for them and challenge them to step out in faith. Alongside the seasonal opportunities that arise throughout the year, these regular opportunities can be deeply formative in a person’s life if they go all in.

Please scroll down to find out what weekly things are available, some for our residents and some for all students.

Weekly Rhythm

  • Book Club

    Mondays | 1 - 2pm

    Prayer Room

Book Club is an opportunity to cncourage each other, discuss the ideas presented in the book and reflect on what is helpful for our lives.

This term we will be looking at “Forgiveness: Reclaiming Its Power in a Culture of Outrage and Fear” by Amy Orr-Ewing. Contact James to order your copy for £6.

  • Run Club

Everyone is welcome to join us for our weekly run, even if you wouldn’t call yourself a runner. The run is steady-going and short…ish.

It’s simply a wonderful time to build community and enjoy a drink in our cafe afterwards (at a discount).

The run happens at different times each week. Follow us on Instagram to find out when the next one will be.

  • Student Lunch

    Tuesdays | 12pm - 2pm

    St Stephen’s Millfield

Each week we provide free lunches to students and staff at Belfast Met and Ulster University. At Belfast Met we serve with the volunteers from St Stephen’s parish church in Millfield and at Ulster we serve as part of the ecumenical chaplaincy team providing the much at St Ann’e’s Cathedral.

  • Toasties and Tunes

    Tuesdays | 7pm Prayer | 7:30pm Start

    Elms Village

Each week as part of the outreach work of the chaplaincy, staff and students go to the Queen’s Elms accommodation and spend time getting to know students, singing and sharing and eating together.

  • The Gathering

    Wednesdays | 6 - 7:30pm

Each week the our five christian community houses join together ‘The Gathering.’ One of the houses looks after the evening meal for all the others and we join together for food and conversation, followed by sung worship, Bible teaching and prayer ministry.

  • Throne Room

    Thursdays | 7:30 - 8:30am

‘Throne Room’ is a joint prayer initiative with our friends from Home Fellowship, Derryvolgie Hall, Young Life University, UCO Belfast and Christian Unions Ireland.

It’s a space to pursue the presence of God for our whole lives and for across our campuses as we worship, prayer and meditate on God’s word.

  • Overflow

    Thursdays | 10:30pm

A night of worship and intercession. More details to follow.

  • Church of the Resurrection

    Sundays Mornings

Our Church is ay the heartbeat of the Chaplaincy: a year-round community of students, families, hospitality, teaching, discussion, worship and prayer.

Join us from 10:15 for coffee and pasties as we get to know one another better. We then move into worship at 10:45.
