Ulster University Belfast

In the heart of the Cathedral Quarter

Meet the Chaplain

Mrs Gail Mercer is the Church of Ireland and Methodist Chaplain for UU’s Belfast campus and also the Jordanstown residences. She works as part of the Chaplaincy Team alongside the Catholic and Presbyterian chaplains.

Chaplaincy on campus

In UUB, the Chaplaincy team work together to promote a welcoming, inclusive community offering pastoral and spiritual support and care to all students and staff.

They are available on campus to support the whole university community and are interested in all aspects of your university life.  You can chat to a chaplain anytime about anything.

The Chaplaincy Lounge BA-02-003 (Birley building)

The Chaplaincy is a safe social space on campus.   Somewhere you can come to relax, chat, study, read, play guitar, board games, meet up with your small group, get a free cup of tea/coffee. It’s a great place for both local and international students & staff to meet and a useful base for home students.

We are open daily - drop in and make yourself at home. If the room is being used for a Chaplaincy event a notice will be displayed outside the door.
