Welcome to the Church of the Resurrection!

We meet at 10.30am every Sunday on Elmwood Avenue, a stone’s throw (literally) from Queen’s University.

We’re so glad you’ve decided to spend your Sunday morning with us.

Here is some helpful information to make your visit as smooth as possible.

What to expect

What time should I arrive?
Our service starts at 10.30 and as we have tea and coffee afterwards, feel free to arrive just before.

Where is it?
The Hub Belfast, 22 Elmwood Avenue, BT9 6AY

[Or go straight to the Google Map here]

What should I wear?
Whatever you normally wear every day! Come as you are. There is no dress code.

I am coming alone! Help!
Don’t worry, we have a lovely team of young adults who are at the door ready to greet you and welcome you & bring you in.
Truth be told, almost everybody danders in on their own; everyone is really friendly.

Who is your Church for?
The Church of the Resurrection is for everybody! We believe everyone should be welcomed into Church no matter who we are and what our background is. Our hope is that you feel at home and our prayer is that you encounter the living Jesus. We are made up of all kinds of people – students, children, young adults, internationals, locals, people who have been around a long time or a short time.

What can I expect during the service?
We are a Christian Church, so everything we do is rooted in the Bible. Once everyone heads through the café and into the Church, you can sit anywhere at all.

One of the ministry team will get up and welcome everyone, share some announcements and the band will lead us in worship. You can sing along or just listen to the music.

We may have a student at the front sharing, then someone will pray, read from God’s word and there will be a talk for about 20 mins on the Bible. There may be a time of reflection and worship afterwards. People usually stay behind afterwards and get to know each other.

Why ‘The Church of the Resurrection’?
Back when the Church was just formed in the 1960s, “The Committee decided to name the new Church “The Church of the Resurrection”. It is felt that the doctrine of the Resurrection and the fact of the living Christ need to be constantly stressed at a University.”

See you Sunday!
